Question 1

What is view.jonbailey.xyz?

Accepted Answer

View 1.3 The Corridor is a night desk for public traffic cameras. Type a place, or two pins for a drive, and keep nearest public feeds on this device with map and agency stills when they publish them.

Question 2

Where do the cameras come from?

Accepted Answer

Camera directory and streams are provided via TrafficVision.Live, which aggregates 145,000+ public agency feeds. This site ranks the closest public rows to your search as great-circle miles. It does not scrape private cameras.

Question 3

Is this the same as view.grok.me?

Accepted Answer

Yes in product function. view.jonbailey.xyz is the network host for the Closest Live Cams experience; view.grok.me remains the original experimental host.

Question 4

What is The Watch?

Accepted Answer

The Watch is a local pin list of places and corridors. Recent chips keep a place, or a whole corridor as one start and end. Pins, recent searches, last mode, and radius stay in browser storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

Question 5

What is The Corridor?

Accepted Answer

Corridor mode takes a start and an end, samples the great-circle line between them, and lists public cameras near that line instead of a single radius blob. It is not a turn-by-turn road route.

Question 6

Does View scrape private cameras?

Accepted Answer

No. View only ranks public directory rows from TrafficVision.Live. Private, doorbell, and unlisted feeds are dropped. If the directory lookup is down, this host still geocodes the place and sends you to TrafficVision.Live.
